Critical Thinking Skills of Environmental Changes: A Biological Instruction Using Guided Discovery Learning-Argument Mapping (GDL-AM)

Based on the development of education in Indonesia today, teachers still teach ways that make students memorize lessons. A learning model is needed can support to think critically. One models critically through guided discovery with argument mapping. This study aims find out influence an mapping develop critical thinking skills. The research method used was quasi experimental and pretest-posttest control group design, sample consisted 66 drawn from 89 Senior High School Jakarta. divided into two groups assign group. exposed mapping, while conventional learning. result independent t-test a significance level α = 0.05 showed p-value 0.000. It be concluded there senior high school students’ Normalized gain also show effective skills (N-gain 0.45).
